Our Services
In-Custody Program & Community Reentry Services
The Gemma Project provides direct-service programming designed to meet the specific needs of incarcerated women as they prepare for reentry. Our program includes:
Our in-custody Day Program offered multiple times each week to provide structured skill building accompanied with psychological support to address the challenges of reentry head on and;
Our Continuing Care Reentry Program, providing 18 months of ongoing individual and group support, services, and system navigation post-release to maintain a continuity of care and connection
Gemma Model Replication Support & Technical Assistance
The Gemma Project provides guidance, technical assistance, and training to jurisdictions across the country to implement their own Gemma In-Custody Day Program and Continuing Care Reentry Program. Our services include a landscape analysis of local resources and gaps, assistance in building a coalition of support and leveraging funding, hands-on instruction and certification to use The Gemma Project curriculum, and help customizing the program to meet specific community needs.
Policy Analysis & Advocacy
The Gemma Project supports jurisdictions to identify and refine justice system, healthcare, child welfare, housing, employment, education, and civic engagement policies to address barriers that disproportionately affect incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women. Our goal is to help break the intergenerational cycle of incarceration and promote long-term individual, family and community stability, health, and wellness.
