The Gemma Project operates a direct service model-site that includes an in-custody gender responsive Day Program and Continuing Care Community Reentry Program for women transitioning from jail back to their community.

Gemma Model Replication Support & Gender Responsive Training

The Gemma Project provides support, technical assistance, and training to sites across the country, including hands-on instruction, curriculum certification, landscape analysis, and guidance on local customization for jurisdictions to implement their own Gemma In-Custody Day Program and Continuing Care Reentry Program.

Policy Analysis & Advocacy

Gemma assists jurisdictions to identify and modify criminal legal, health, child welfare, housing, employment, education, and civic engagement policies that disproportionately impact women and exacerbate the intergenerational cycle of incarceration.

Poverty is the strongest predictor of recidivism among women
